January 1, 2010 - Nan K. P. Aulakh commences as executive member of the Victoria Bar Association.
November 15, 2009 - Peter Lawless elected as a Director of Coaches of Canada (the Canadian Association of Professional Coaches).
September 12, 2009 - The 2009 Nanaimo2Victoria Cycling Challenge in support of Cops for Cancer and sponsored by Johns Southward & Co.
June 2009 - David Johns elected a Director of Habitat for Humanity Victoria
June 2009 - Peter Lawless elected as the Treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association Civil Litigation Section (Vancouver Island)
June 2009 – Peter Lawless elected to the Board of Directors of the Coaches Association of BC
June 2009 – Team entry in New Balance Elk Lake ½ Ironman Triathlon. The team of Shaun Eden (Swim), Peter Lawless (Bike) and Mike Genge (Run) placed 12th out of 47 Teams and 85th overall out of 500+ finishers in a total time of 4:55:34.
June 2009 – Peter Lawless presented a seminar on conflict management to the delegates to BC Hockey Association's Annual General Meeting
May 2009 - Peter Lawless appointed to the Organizing Committee of the Nanaimo2Victoria Cycling Challenge (a fundraiser for the BC Cancer Agency).
April 2009 - JSG team entry in Victoria Times Colonist 10k road race.
March 2009 - Mike Genge presented a seminar on Real Estate Law to Realtors at the Sutton Group Real Estate Agency in Duncan.
February 2009 – Nan K. P Aulakh presented a seminar for business owners called “Legal Basics for Small Business”.
February 2009 – Peter Lawless was appointed to Tourism Victoria’s Sport Development Committee.
February 2009 - Craig Young presented a seminar on Wills and Estates to the Victoria Chapter of the Medical Office Assistants Association of BC.
January 2009 - Peter Lawless presented a seminar on adminstrative complaints at the BC Hockey Semi-Annual General Meeting.
January 2009 – Deborah Anderson was appointed to the Town of Sidney Advisory Planning Commission.
January 2009 - Robert Glazier concluded his 9 year appointment as the Honorary Colonel to Canadian Forces Squadron 443. Bob will continue to be involved with 443 Squadron and the Canadian Forces generally.
December 2008 – Nan K. P. Aulakh presented a seminar for business owners called “Legal Basics for Small Business”.
December 2008 – Peter Lawless was named BC Athletics’ “Coach of the Year 2008”.
December 2008 - Firm staff raise funds for Mustard Seed Food Bank at their annual Christmas party. A total of $2970 was raised in one evening!
November 2008 - Nan K.P. Aulakh and George D. Walton presented a seminar on Professional Real Estate Corporations.
November 11, 2008 – Firm members participate in Thetis Lake Relay
November 2008 – Peter Lawless was appointed as the Harassment Advisor for the BC Hockey Association.
October 2008 - Richard Margetts, Q.C. was appointed the Chair of the BC Hockey Association's Appeals Panel.
September 2008 - Craig Young was elected the Treasurer of the Wills and Trusts Victoria subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch)
September 2008 - Nan K. P. Aulakh and George D. Walton presented a seminar on Professional Real Estate Corporations.
May 31, 2008 - The JSG Rowed Warriors participate in the Corporate Rowing Challenge to raise funds in support of Dynamic Opportunities for Youth, a nationwide rowing program for Youth at Risk. Way to go team!!
