Eric is a business lawyer whose practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning, and commercial real estate acquisitions, development, secured financing and construction projects. He advises business owners, family offices and institutional investors, developers, general contractors, and institutional and private lenders throughout Western Canada.

Before returning to Victoria, Eric practised with one of Vancouver’s leading business and real estate law firms and later moved in-house as general counsel to a large Vancouver-based real estate development and construction company specializing in high-rise condominium, hotel and industrial projects in Canada and the United States. This combination of private practice and executive in-house experience provides him with a perspective that extends beyond the legal issues involved in a transaction. He brings unique insight into the commercial, operational and financial considerations that drive business decisions and approaches legal issues with those considerations in mind.

Outside the office, Eric is a member of the Finance Committee and Facilities Committee of the Board of Governors of St. Michaels University School and has served on the boards of several local charitable and community organizations. He remains active in Victoria’s rugby and soccer communities and enjoys soccer and skiing with his family.
